Hey {{first_name}},
Can you believe it's the end of February already? Where did the time go.
This month we’ve been planning a lot behind the scenes, that I can't wait to tell you about but firstly, let’s celebrate some wins:
We've passed 500+ followers on Instagram!
Naomi presented at the Creative Mentorship Network Showcase, highlighting the development of Beat The Block for Soho House members.
Naomi was gifted a framed shirt from local team Witney Vikings after her coaching session + Q&A as a thank you for leading and inspiring others.
We’ve added social media producer Emelia Johnson to the BTB team!
And onboarded not one but two incredible ambassadors this month:
Anyika Onuora and Sarah Essam!!
Anyika is a three-time Olympian, British champion, record breaker and author.
Sarah is the first Egyptian female footballer to play in the UK and Spain, and currently represents Hull City and the Egypt National Team.
At BTB we want YOU to be a part of the journey to empower 1 million girls, so here’s an update on what we’re currently working on:
Next month, Naomi will be delivering an identity workshop at the University of Nottingham to identify and break down the barriers preventing intersectional students from partcipating in sport.
We’re attending an International Women’s Day Panel on March 2nd, which has generously offered to donate any funds raised to Beat The Block and our mission to empower underrepresented girls.
Currently working with the FA to try and plan our own intersectional women’s event and bring together leaders and gamechangers from all levels of the footballing world.
Writing this newsletter helps remind me that although progress can feel slow sometimes, there are people like you who truly believe in the mission and what we’re trying to achieve. It’s the people around you who push you to achieve things that others say are unattainable or unrealistic. Thanks for being here!
